Camira Fabrics, a global leader in high-performance and sustainable textiles (including the iconic seat fabric for the London Underground), approached us with a key challenge - their Kentico-based website was holding them back.

It was archaic, difficult to manage, and delivered a poor user experience, which was a mismatch for a brand celebrated for innovation and design excellence.

They wanted a digital experience that could grow with them, connect with international audiences, and reflect the craftsmanship and sustainability that define the Camira brand.

We designed and built a completely new digital platform, combining strategic UX design with robust development to deliver a future-ready website on Umbraco, using Umbraco Commerce.

Our process began with an in-depth UX discovery phase, including:

  • Audience research and analytics deep dive to understand user needs and behaviour
  • Journey analysis to map real user behaviour, two rounds of tree testing and card sorting for structure refinement and design validation
  • Wireframing and component mapping to streamline navigation across multiple audiences
  • Creation of a design system to guide consistency, accessibility, and scalability

On the technical side, we used Next.js for performance and responsiveness, integrating with Umbraco Commerce via a bespoke REST API. This allowed for:

  • Localised content and pricing for multiple markets
  • Dynamic stock, tax, and trade pricing integrations with Camira’s legacy systems
  • A seamless link between content and commerce for a frictionless global experience

The result is a high-performance digital ecosystem that reflects Camira’s design leadership while meeting complex B2B demands with simplicity and elegance.
